Nobody wants to know the reasons your TV broke down or why the neighbouring chick hasn’t spoken to you since last week. They don’t even want to know how bad your salary or working conditions are. Keep your grouses to yourself and get on with the job!

You keep peeking into others’ workstations

Well, if this isn’t creepy to others, we don’t know what is. Nobody wants a surveillance monitor on them all the time. Besides, you are invading on someone’s privacy by constantly checking up on them uninvited. Sooner or later, the dam of patience will burst and a complaint will be lodged against you.

You try to get too personal

While being friendly with your colleagues is appreciated, there is a line of professionalism you must never cross with them. Do not ask questions out of turn and try to snoop in on your colleagues’ private lives. What people do outside of work is their concern and unless they confide in you, it’s not your place to question them about it.

You complain about not working

It’s one thing to not work yourself, but if you don’t let others work as well by complaining about not being able to work then you need a reality check. You may not be able to takeinspiration from your hard-working colleague but at least don’t break their concentration by bickering about your lack of productivity.

There is a reason email is used to communicate. Read the manual on that one before you hit Reply All for each and every mail, even if it is to share funny Buzzfeed links! Learn the art of writing and sending emails so that your colleagues don’t mark all your mail to Spam.  

You bully others into doing things

There is a way of asking colleagues to do things for you. If you need help with your laptop or can’t figure out why the printer isn’t working, then ask politely. Do not stand on someone’s head and demand them to help you out right away. That’s just being rude and unruly.
