6 Ways To Be Different And Unique

You must have read the tiring line that extols how we are all unique and different from one another. You read wrong. If you graduated at 21, got married before 30 and want to retire before 50, you're like a billion other Indians out there. Yet, that is no reason to despair. You can still be different  from the rat pack if you follow these steps.

Too many of us are so attuned to our daily life that we forget the first rule of standing out from the crowd. Get up from your desk, shake yourself out of your stupor, pull yourself to your full height and take strides when you are walking. Your gait is as different as your fingerprint. Make it your own by walking with purpose.

Always think about solutions

The world is more connected and complex today than at any other point in history. This has brought upon a flux of challenges that need to be solved. Instead of sitting and griping about problems, seek ways of being helpful and giving solutions wherever you go. Be it in your home, your building complex, your commute or your work, be proactive and know of ways of how you can make any process simpler. Even something as simple as suggesting the fire escape be kept clean at all times can add up to an significant achievement in times to come.

Be approachable and patient

Most people today are busy in their own little lives and are too selfish to think about others and hear their worries and fears. Don't be one of them. Instead, develop compassion and have an approachable demeanour. Try and be patient with everyone. Meditate every day if it helps you. The sooner you lose your temper, the quicker you will lose your relationships too. Always keep that in mind.

Have passion and belief

Mass media and other hillbilly figures out there are determined to beat the world in one shape. To stand out from others, you must have certain beliefs and be passionate about certain things that go against the popular grain. You must be justifiable in your beliefs so that when you are asked about it, you don't come across as just another jerk.

Back your instincts

Too many people become less unique by not following up on their primary instincts. They decide to take the less risky road and ultimately end up wondering if they made the right choice at all. But to be unique, you must always follow up your instincts. That is always the one trait separates the geniuses and extraordinary people from the rest, be it Shakespeare orSteve Jobs.

Look at the big picture

Have you ever flown on an airplane, looked down as the plane climbed upward and wondered how tiny the world really is? If you said yes, then you are already on the way to greatness. Being unique means having the ability to look at things not just in the short term but in the long run as well. Everybody knows what will happen in the next few weeks but only the truly unique ones know when and why things will happen in the future as well. You don't get to be Warren Buffett just like that, do you?
