7 Things Men Wish They Were Better At

We are good people with great existences. We have an amazing job, an incredible girlfriend and beautiful friendships. We solve problems like a pro, fix leaky pipes like a professional, and help women open jars. Long story short- we are near perfect! Near because, well, someone knowledgeable once said that no one is perfect. We are almost there. Yet, there are certain things we haven’t mastered to our best possible abilities. From giving compliments to saving money, these are 7 habits that we wish we were better (translation: best) at.

1)  Giving compliments

We have always been the victim while giving compliments to women. Be vocal, and your compliments will be perceived as insincere. Be very general, and they’ll feel we are forcing ourselves. Be creative and they think we are laughing at them. Such a pity! We only wish we knew how to master the art.

2)  Tying a bow tie

Yeah, we are guilty of using Google to check out instructional videos that tell us how tie a bow tie. Neckties have never really been our friends and we are yet to figure why! And, though we like the idea of having our spouse do the job for us, we wish this wasn't such a rocket science for us.

3)  Not being able to quote sentences from books or movies

You know that filmy stuff your girl likes. Well, rom-coms have officially ruined our lives. Our girl wishes we were nothing less than a Shah Rukh Khan with the ability to romance a chair and charming her panties off with iconic film dialogues or quotes from her favourite books. Too much pressure, isn't it?

4) Giving gifts

A day left for your girlfriend’s birthday and all you’ve got planned for her is a birthday cake from a nearby bakery shop, because let’s face it – you’re busy, are mostly immersed in work so much so that there is no time to even play the latest X-box game. So, yes it’s forgiven! This is the last time you’ll say we are this unplanned, and for real this time.

5) Saving money

Almost every day while commuting from work to home, we tell ourselves we’ll cook dinner after going home. Almost every day, we go home and call a pizza from Dominoes. That’s Rs 250 per day, and even though we diligently cook on weekends, it amounts to Rs 1250 a week, and a whooping Rs 60,000 a year. This is actually a bit depressing, so we rather stop saying and start saving.

6)  Buying whisky and actually drinking it

We tried really hard but weren't able to bring ourselves to shift from beer to whisky, which is considered to be the ultimate man’s drink. And even though we somehow managed to get hold of a glass, we simply couldn’t take it down without making a face. Sigh! I’m tired, where’s my bud?!

7)  Wearing a white shirt without spilling anything on it!

We are generally never clumsy, unless we’re wearing a white shirt. Then we can’t pass the day without spilling something on it. It’s as if the white shirt’s day is not made unless it isn't covered in food. Ah, charming us!
