You simply don’t know the ABC of liberty if you shun politics.

Sasy, FTI is not thwarted by the Indian constitution. That is something I had agreed, along with                       Sharad Joshi, to overcome by defining socialism as capitalsm (for our own purposes). Thus, I joined Sharad Joshis' SBP as a national executive member, and helped raise funds for the party. Sharad managed to get a Rajya Sabha seat in 2004 as a result. FTI is thwarted by the non-existence of enough competent leaders in India. There is a MASSIVE scarcity of thinking people in India. Mostly sheep, who follow socialis blindly, or even if they think they support liberalism, they actually support Congress or BJP.
For those interested in FTI's political strategy, details are on FTI's publication page.

I see that Sanjeev Sabhlok's difficulties in getting FTI off the ground is a demonstration of what Ayn Rand had said in her views about political change. A reason why Objectivists do not support the Libertarian Party is precisely because change cannot happen "top down" through an election. This places the candidate at the mercy of election cycles among a populace that doesn't understand the meaning and importance of liberty, reason, and individualism. In order to ensure greater chances of a candidate staying in office, one would have to have a culture that is largely in support of and in understanding of the basic principles underlying the candidate's run for office. - See more at: http://sabhlokcity.com/2011/10/you-simply-dont-know-the-abc-of-liberty-if-you-sun-politics/#sthash.ug9wJ3fr.dpuf

Jerry, unfortunately this argument is FALSE. The reality is that whatever liberty the world has seen has come ENTIRELY from the top. No society has achieved liberty from the bottom. US was entirely a creation of people like Jefferson and Franklin. The Whigs transformed UK. The Liberal Party transformed Australia. The free market governor of Hong Kong transformed Hong Kong.
If you REFUSE to be a citizen and engage with the politics of your land you will NECESSARILY be governed by socialists. Indeed, I would argue that you DON'T understand the fundamentals of liberty if you avoid engaging in politics. Ayn Rand might have been right on many things but if she asked her "followers" (i.e. mindless non-thinking people who follow like sheep) to shun politics then she was wrong, very very wrong!
