Narendra Modi: Jharkhand will benefit more if it gets a full-majority government

Narendra Modi: Jharkhand will benefit more if it gets a full-majority government

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tried his best to give an apolitical speech today in Ranchi but could not resist the temptation of reminding people the benefits of a full-majority government.

Addressing a public meeting in Ranchi, Modi told the audience that the central government is taking fast decisions because it’s full-majority government and it  does not have to face the pulls and pressures of a coalition government. Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren who was also present on the dais had no other option than to listen to Modi’s remarks silently.

“Jharkhand will also be able to make a prominent space in the world of technology. Do you know how this government is able to function smoothly and speedily? Because people have given complete majority to the government. That is why we are not stagnant. You understand what happens to stagnant government. Jharkhand is now growing up. It is now around 13 years old. At this age parents too get worried about their children. This age defines children’s future,” said Modi.

Modi also reminded the audience that the state Chief Minister no longer has to travel to Delhi for getting things done.

“We want to take the nation forward, we need to take our states along with us. So the centre has decided to provide you with 400 crore every year. For this Hemant Soren didn’t have to come to Delhi. We brought it to him, because we believe that we have to take everyone together – “Jan jan ki takat ko milkar aage badhna hai,” added Modi.

“We cannot accept Jharkhand’s situation, the way it is. I have come to inaugurate the 765/400 KV power grid and transmission circuit.  Atal Behari Vajpayee had initiated this project and since then it has been lying like this. Don’t you think this is injustice to you? I think this project for left incomplete because I was destined to complete it. Jharkhand will not only get electricity but it will also supply electricity to the nation, Modi further said.

Earlier, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren today faced humiliation as the crowd at Ranchi booed him and chanted ‘Modi-Modi’ while he was addresses a public meeting with PM Modi during  the inauguration of a power grid and transmission circuit and a gas pipeline project in Jharkhand.

Narendra Modi instantly signaled to the crowd to maintain calm. Apparently people wanted to hear Modi and were least interested in what their Chief Minister had to say. The crowd responded to Modi’s signal obediently and hushed up.

This is the third time that a Chief Minister has had to face such embarrassment.

Earlier CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda was booed by the crowd who was restless to hear Modi. Hooda was left red faced as he had to wind up his speech quickly.

Hooda felt so humiliated that he decided never to share stage again with the Prime Minister. Before Hooda, Maharashtra CM Prithviraj Chavan had also faced similar humiliation

01:29 pm: Modi concludes his speech with the chants of Bharat Mata Ki Jai.

01:28 pm: Modi: I hope that Jharkhand will reform in the coming years

01:24 pm: Modi: Similarly, this phase is important for the State too. You have to decide what should be  Jharkhand’s dreams when it gets 18 years old, what will it be like…this is your responsibility. You need to have new dreams; you need to take the state forward. I want you to have the spirit of Birsa Munda.

01:22 pm: Modi: Jharkhand will also be able to find a prominent place in the world of technology. Do you know how this government is able to function smoothly and speedily? Because people have given complete majority to the government. That is why we are not stagnant. You understand what happens to stagnant government. Jharkhand is now growing up. It is now around 13 years old. At this age parents too get worried about their children. This age defines a children’s future.

01:19 pm:
Modi: Very soon IITs, IIITs will be established in Jharkhand. I had talked about technology during my speech on Independence Day in Red Fort. Mobile phones have become a necessity. Technology is important because it simplifies work. We want the government to be in your hands through digitalization. You can do everything on your own through technology. We are very behind in this front as compared to the world. We need to work on upgrading technology.

01:16 pm: Modi- Gas grid will be made for domestic use, trade, transport, a network will be established. Through this cities in the Eastern zone will get gas through pipelines. You have youth and strength.

01:12 pm: Modi: Our government wants to take North, South, East and West forward together in uniformity. When this transmission plant is set up then you will gain. Normally if CMs want to approach the central government with a scheme for their state, then they have to toil to get it passed. Often 10 years pass and the schemes are not implemented. We want to take the nation forward, we need to take our states along with us. So the centre has decided to profit you with 400 crore every year. For this Hemant Soren didn’t have to come to Delhi. We brought it to him, because we believe that we have to take everyone together – “Jan jan ki takat ko milkar aage badhna hai”.

01:10 pm : Modi:
I believe that if we want to make India great and take it towards the path of development, then no part of mother India should be left behind. We see that there are some changes in the Western zone of India but our Eastern zone has been left behind. Poverty has taken its toll.

01:07 pm:
Modi: We cannot accept Jharkhand’s present condition, the way it is. I have come to inaugurate the 765/400 KV power grid and transmission circuit.  Atal Behari Vajpayee had initiated this project and since then it has been lying like this. Don’t you think this is injustice to you? I think this project was left incomplete because I was destined to complete it. Jharkhand will not only get electricity but it will also supply electricity to the nation.

01:05 pm: Modi:
Jharkhand has the capacity of becoming the most self sugfficient state in India. If I can compare it to Gujarat then you can also do the same. This State has plentiful natural resources and  dynamic youth. You cannot be left behind. Atal Behari Vajpayee had formed this state. He had a vision for you.

01:02 pm: Modi: Before elections I had visited Jharkhand on several occasions. I had talked about development. I want to thank you from the bottem of my heart for choosing the path of development and supporting us. The love that you have bestowed on me, I will always be indebted to you. But my dear brothers and sisters, I cannot satisfy myself by merely thanking you. I have come to return that love to you. I will do so through development.
