Nupur Talwar, who has been found guilty along with husband Rajesh of killing their daughter Aarushi Talwar and domestic help Hemraj by a Ghaziabad court on November 25, has taken ill. Doctors attending to her at a prison in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh say they will decide in a few hours whether she can travel to a court nearby to receive her sentence.
"Nupur Talwar has high BP and anxiety. She didn't eat properly last night. Doctors are with her", Dasna jail superintendent said.
Her husband Rajesh, too, is reportedly suffering from high blood pressure but is doing fine.
The Talwars were convicted of murder and destruction of evidence under sections 302 and 201 of the Indian Penal code. Rajesh Talwar was also held guilty under section 203 of registering a false FIR with the Noida Police.
The dentist couple broke down immediately on hearing the verdict; Rajesh was stonefaced as the two were taken away to Dasna Jail and Nupur seemed crushed.
Aarushi was found in her room with her throat slit on the morning of May 16, 2008. The body of domestic help Hemraj, who according to Rajesh Talwar had murdered her, was found dumped on the terrace a day later.
